Michelle Garraway

Fellow Extraordinaire

Michelle has worked in social services for almost 15 years in both government and non-profit organizations, with her last 5 years being dedicated to public sector innovation. She is perpetually dissatisfied with the status quo and is fascinated by the beauty and complexity of people, communities, and cultures. Her experience has focused on poverty, social innovation, and organizational culture, and she has worked with youth and adults in both direct and indirect practice. She has a Master of Social Work and a BA in Criminology and Psychology.

Fun fact: Michelle has practiced Muay Thai for a decade. Her claim to fame is when she had her arm broken in the first round of a fight but kept going and won (she didn’t know it was broken at the time thanks to adrenaline and passed out at the hospital later that night when she saw the x-ray).
