Maggie can tell you about the origins of day programs in the disability space and the sorts of wild things that used to happen before those spaces became so tightly regulated (ask her about lighting hundreds of broken chopsticks on fire…) As Principal of the Community Living Innovation Venture at VanCity Community Foundation, Maggie has made a career out of bridging worlds: corporate and social, entrepreneurial and community-driven, present needs and future possibilities. What began 35+ years ago as a frontline role supporting people with disabilities and their families has evolved into a practice of building bold partnerships to spark real systems change.
